126. My assignment is overdue, and each day I am hassled by the teacher, but I suppose I am lazy. Then another assignment is due and another and it is all too much. And I am losing one lunchtime after another trying to catch up but I can’t. And the teacher talks to me and we discuss the problem, and he says I don’t have to do all the work. (Now I can sleep peacefully again.)

127. We do Art.

128. You race to the water fountain and get there second. The person who gets there first usually has the warm water in the pipes. And you can say things to him like, ‘Oh! You beat me again. Oh well, I’ll beat you next time.’ But you never do!

129. My mum turns up at school and I organise for my best friend to come over for a play. It is all so unexpected and it happens so quickly. One moment I am looking forward to television, homework, sandwiches and chores, and the next moment I am looking at computer games, fun times and cakes.

130.The teacher plays a 10 minute game of silent ball.
