I love school when :

211. On the way BACK from the excursion most of us are exhausted, so the teacher makes us play ‘the silent game’.  We call the game ‘dead fish’.  This is when we all pretend to be dead fish on the bus.  Some kids do actually fall asleep.

212. My friends and I need time to sort out a problem, and the teacher gives it to us.      ‘You see Jilly told Tina that I said to everyone else that her and Keith were in love. When Tina found out, she told everyone that I had lied, and then half the class suddenly ganged up on me. First I had to stand up against Ellie and Jessica who told me that I was being mean. Then I spoke to Tina. Then I spoke to Tina with Caitlin, to prove that I didn’t tell her that Tina and Keith were in love. And then I spoke to Jilly, who said that she thought she heard me telling Jenni about Tina and Keith. Then I spoke to the teacher. And the problem was sorted. Tina and I are still best friends… but we don’t like Jilly anymore.  But I think Tina and Keith are in love.’

213. The teacher, who has an old ‘bomb’ car, says, ‘As a class reward this year, if you get 1000 class points, you can paint my car.’ paintcar

214. I am lining up for a treat from the teacher, and the teacher reverses the line, so the kids at the back get served first. I am at the back. (It has worked out so well, but I am not sure where the line will start next time.)

215. I invite a special-needs child to my party, and the teacher hears about it, and I get a merit award at assembly for caring and kindness. (The reason the teacher heard about it is because the special kid was really happy and told the teacher. It is the first party, held by a school friend, they the kid had ever been invited to.)
