A gentle story about a girl who is traumatised by a car crash, and who no longer plays the flute. She is angry and silent. Then she meets Noah and he shows her two blackbirds and their eggs. Eventually, the music finds its way back into the girl’s heart.
I enjoyed this book. It was an easy read, less than 10,000 words. Suitable for Year 4 upwards. There are a few themes I suppose: forgiveness of self and others. Never give up. Care of nature. There is music everywhere and it can be healing.
