I love school when :

171. I swing on the chair and get that perfect balance point. (Hands out wide, feet under my desk to catch me if I topple backwards. Eyes to the board. Tongue probably sticking out sideways.)balancechair

172. We have a visiting wheelchair basketball champion who brings in wheelchairs, and lets us try them on the court. We all take turns and we all have success, but he is a real champion and spins around, skids to a stop, and ‘runs’ circles around us. Afterwards, we look at videos on youtube and see him in action on the international circuit. Too cool!

173. I want to talk to the teacher at lunchtime and s/he is waiting in the class and wanting to talk with me too. It sure is nice to have my own personal sounding board/psychiatrist/brother/sister/mum/dad on hand.

174. When our next unit of work is something like superheroes. Olympics. Inventors. Convicts. Natural disasters. Space…Monsters…comics…

175. The class disruptions are absent and the day goes smoothly, and you actually learn something.  These disruptions can take the form of shouting teachers, shouting kids, mean teachers, mean kids, humming and tapping teachers, whistling kids, kids kicking your chair, kids on anger management plans, teachers who should be…
